There’s plenty to see and do in the area: art and craft galleries, fossils, heritage centres, wartime history including the Churchill Barriers and Italian Chapel, as well as the conservation village of St Margaret’s Hope. A selection of cafes, hotels and restaurants offer local produce and a friendly welcome.

21.8 Miles – 35 Minute Drive Approximately
Follow the A961 past the Highland Park Distillery towards the village of St Mary’s. Continue across the 4 Churchill Barriers towards St Margaret’s Hope. Follow the signs from St Margaret’s Hope towards Burwick. Turn left at the ‘Tomb of the Eagles’ sign. Follow the signs from here for approximately 1 mile.

(Gills Bay Ferry Terminal) From the pier at St Margaret’s Hope follow the main road through the village. At the first junction turn right towards Burwick – A961. After approximately 6 miles, turn left at the ‘Tomb of the Eagles’ sign. Follow the signs from here for 1 mile.
